The Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll for December 29, 2014

You might exist wondering, "Then what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?"

Well, it isn't exactly a poll. Information technology'south more than of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I've been putting out to readers every Monday forenoon for the past seven years. (It's similar a kickstart for your brain.) I've ever enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I promise you enjoy reading mine.

1. I detest to store for…
   For someone who frequents Home Goods and then much, I actually detest shopping for abode stuff considering I'1000 terribly indecisive when it comes to picking stuff for walls, or for the furniture. Information technology'due south just I take this irrational idea that once I get similar a pillow I'thou gonna exist stuck with that pillow for the next 20 years, and I can't – so I stand there, like I'm literally in the alley looking at all the pillows, but what if I don't like this blue seashell pillow when I'm like 55, I'll still take to look at it till then, and it paralyzes me.
2. I love to shop for…
   Everything else (other than habitation stuff), but shoes and makeup and kitty things particularly. And coats.

   Basically, I similar shopping for anything that will still fit if my weight tin fluctuate up and down.

   Oh, and purses.

3. You have three minutes to freshen upwards your makeup, then what do yous practise?
   Well, the first thing I do is gear up my wonky right brow, which is shorter than my left brow, so the tail end usually fades throughout the day…

   And so I'll set up my right wonky brow, then I'll requite my lashes a quick gyre — merely very gently, of course, because I don't want to pull out any eyelashes. Then I'll throw on some other layer of mascara, and speedily rim my optics.

   Since I vesture nude lips a lot (merely because they're easier for me and I don't accept to deal with lip pencil or whatever), I'll unremarkably do another layer of whichever nude lipstick or gloss or lip liner I happen to be wearing.

   I kind of like to be a little shiny because I similar my skin glowing, but if I have an actress twenty seconds or then, I'll powder my forehead, which tends to go a little shinier than the rest of my face up.

4. What's the oldest matter in your closet that yous nonetheless wear all the time?
   Years ago (I call back it was 2007) when I interviewed Paris Hilton, I'd been out of the corporate workforce for a long fourth dimension, so I had to get an interview outfit. I bought this bones blackness dress at H&Thou for like $xx that I notwithstanding wear.

   It's black jersey, like shooting fish in a barrel to pack. It'south non really trendy… It'southward kind of one of those timeless cuts, got short sleeves, hits correct in a higher place the knee. I can wearing apparel it upwards, I tin dress it downward, and it'southward stretchy. 🙂

5. What are some things you'd like to do more of in 2015?
   Generally, I would similar to forgive myself more. I tend to beat myself up mentally for the things I practice wrong, and I don't want to do that and so much, so I'd similar to forgive myself more.

   I'd also like to exercise more, but I don't know if that will necessarily translate into doing some other one-half-marathon, but I'd like to sweat more than. I'd besides similar to see my friends more, and develop my friendships more. And I'd like to do more new things.

MONDAY!

I'yard halfway through my second loving cup of coffee and really looking forrard to my run this morning, because I did not practice at all over the Christmas suspension.

Well, I did exercise my mouth… 🙂 And my tum. By repeatedly shoving lots of sugary things and carby things into them.

How was your weekend? Did y'all spend it with family unit or friends? Was it busy? Relaxing?

What most New year's? Per usual, I don't have any plans yet. El Hub and I ordinarily just become out to dinner, and then come up home and sit down around, perhaps watch the ball driblet at midnight. I keep telling myself to try something new this fourth dimension, so possibly we volition. Who knows?
